#1 The Persecution of Parvez: Meet Parvez

About: The life of a young Christian man in a Moslem world.

INTRODUCTION TO PARVEZ

Editor‘s Note: We are all aware in a very general way, that Christians are under attack all over the world. But do we really comprehend the breadth and the scope and the impact of that persecution in the daily life of those Christians? People who are just trying to live their lives and raise their families, must do so, often in poverty but also without peace or safety.  We who live in peace and comfort sometimes fail to be mindful of those who every day must truly worry about their physical and emotional safety. I hope and pray it will awaken us all to the need to take our prayer life to the next level. I pray as we become more aware, truly aware, of the circumstances of our brothers and sisters around the world, that we might be inspired to do more than we think we can, to see that we answer God’s call of the “Great Commission” to  take God’s message of hope and salvation to the whole world.

Parvez has given me permission, for their protection, to edit his letters to conceal the location and identity of he and his family. It is my hope that his story will give you a clear picture of what it means to be a Christian living under the constant threat and presence of persecution. How it affects a person’s psyche. How it affects a person’s emotional, physical and spiritual health. How it affects a person’s walk with God.

Parvez: I am a young man with a wife and children. As Christians, we have no protection under the law in our country. The ever present persecution can range from harassment, refusal of employment, forced non-Christian religious education of my children, theft of property, including one’s home, abduction, forced marriage, forced conversion, to physical violence, even death, sometimes even at the hands of the police. I did not have an idea that my letters would be “published” on the internet when I began corresponding with my “brother” in America. When he asked if he could make a blog from my letters and tell the story of my family and I, I agreed. Please remember, these are just letters from one Christian brother to another. I have found spiritual counsel and encouragement in our correspondence and I am happy to share our story. I hope you will be blessed. Please pray for my family, as I constantly fear for the safety and the future of my children. I trust in God, but as a Father who is responsible for the children God has given me, I sometimes fear I will fail in my responsibility to protect my children, or to provide the things they need in life. I believe that God will see us through but it breaks my heart to see my children suffer.

Editor‘s Note: I hope and pray it will awaken us all to the need to take our spiritual life to the next level, that we might be blessed to take God’s message of hope and salvation to the whole world.

Mark 16:14 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

That the message contained in the Book of Mormon should go to the whole world:

Alma 17:33 And behold, it has been prophesied by our fathers, that they should be kept and handed down from one generation to another, and be kept and preserved by the hand of the Lord, until they should go forth unto every nation, kindred, tongue and people, that they shall know of the mysteries contained thereon.
