Long-time friend of the Conference, former President, Treasurer and acting Bishop of the JCRB prior to his death, High Priest Rob Rolfe passed away March 9th following a prolonged illness.
Born in Michigan, Rob fell in love with wife Lynda while attending Graceland College. In 1970 he began law school and later served as a county, city and private sector attorney, for awhile in partnership with Sherman Phipps. He even served the Lamoni area as a county abstractor and Magistrate.
Rob and Lynda enjoyed hunting together in their younger years. They went on to have four children, and grandchildren in whom they delighted seeing grow and mature. Rob played guitar, mandolin and banjo, being particularly fond of blue grass and Don Francisco songs, and sang often in his home congregation, writing songs and singing in small groups or with wife Lynda when occasion permitted. While attending Mt. Ayr Restoration Branch, Brother Rob was active in his priesthood, serving as pastor several times. Prior to that he had served on the Lamoni Stake High Council and was an active High Priest serving in Creston, Mr. Ayr and Lamoni, Iowa. In 2007 Rob was elected president of the JCRB, and served through 2014.
Brother Rob loved his family, the people of his congregations (most recently in Mt. Ayr and Lamoni), and being in service to God and the work of the Restoration. He loved music, telling jokes, and joyed in observing and encouraging talents in the lives of our youth. He will be missed for his easy smile, love of story-telling, appreciation for the scriptures, and tender heart. Rob was predeceased by his wife Lynda in 2018.
Funeral Services for Rob took place March 19, 2022 in Lamoni, Iowa (USA).
