To the Saints of the Church of Jesus Christ:
The world is in a state of turmoil, and great suffering brought on initially by the Coronavirus pandemic is now advancing far beyond the physical effects of the disease. In the past several weeks we have witnessed unprecedented upheaval in the United States of America. As we have focused on the pandemic, political commotion, and world events, our attention has been diverted from Christ. There seems to be a growing fear among the Lord’s people about the future and what is in store.
It is incumbent that we understand a few things regarding what is happening. The very birth of America came about through the pain and sacrifice of its people as they freed themselves from the tyranny of a king. Freedom will always require vigilance and sacrifice to maintain its presence. Perhaps we, in America, have become too complacent and satisfied with the gift of democracy with which we were blessed. Perhaps the same thing can be said about the condition of the church as well as general Christian faith in America today. The scriptures testify that “because iniquity shall abound, the love of men shall wax cold; but he that shall not be overcome, the same shall be saved” (Matthew 24:31).
The question before us is: What should we be doing now? The answer to this question has many facets, but simply put, we should all be praying for wisdom and guidance. Additionally, we should be petitioning the Lord for His Spirit to rise up among His people, that they might be restored in great power. America and His church need a revival of the Spirit of Christ to sweep across the face of its people in remembrance of His power and strength to rescue and save. While repentance is required from all, repentance without new resolve accomplishes little. Therefore, there needs to arise among His people a new Spirit born from repentance that resolves to finally engage fully in the work of bringing to pass the cause of Zion among His people.
The Lord has given His people the gift of much faith. However, many have forgotten that the faith given by God has the power to move mountains. Now is the time to begin exercising the faith He has given us to accomplish and bring to pass the salvation of mankind as well as the cause of Zion.
Events in America often affect people and nations all over the world. We ask saints everywhere to engage in fasting and mighty prayer for the church, the cause of Zion, and America’s revival of freedom, justice and the presence of God’s powerful guiding and saving Spirit.
