A Reminder for Latter Day Saints
If my wonderful wife of 52 years told me to do something right before she left our home, you can pretty well surmise what her first question would be to her “obedient husband” when she returned. Our Lord Jesus, just before leaving His Apostles in Israel, told them: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”
When Jesus returns to rule the earth, or perhaps even earlier, what do you expect His question might be to us who bear His name, regarding the last thing He told His Apostles? It could well be, have you done the thing I said?
Our Lord’s commandment to teach all nations has been repeated in various scriptures since His ascension into heaven, but there is an urgency imposed upon those that are trying to obey His commandment today. Our missionaries have been faithful in preaching the gospel and are having great success in bringing souls to Christ. We would like to send our missionaries to every nation from which we receive an invitation, but we simply do not have the money to do so.
If you believe the Lord is prompting you to support our efforts to preach the gospel and baptize all nations, I most fervently request that you examine your stewardship response and what you believe the Lord is directing you to do at this time. Your unreserved tithes and offerings are needed to continue our preaching of the “glorious gospel”. Can we count on you and your family to respond to the need with your prayers, and monetary support to our mutual holy endeavor?
