This was a historic conference in that four Presidents of Seventy were approved and set apart, ten new Seventy were called and approved, and a President of the Quorum of Seventy was set apart. The four Presidents of Seventy are Neil Simmons, Frank Frye, Ron Smith, and Steve DeVera. The ten men called to be Seventy are Randy Vick, Arturo Gomez, Greg Thomas, Hensley Mbanaso, Joe Essary, Richard A. Smith, Tim Canfield, Gary Wilson, Mark Deitrick, and Rex Curtis, Jr. The ordinations of these men will take place at later times. In confirmation of these events the conference received three inspired messages through three different elders. All three messages were presented to and approved by the elders from the Melchesdic Priesthood as inspired direction and counsel from the Lord. The conference started on April 6th with a sacrament service at the Community of Christ Auditorium, where the spoken word was brought by High Priest Sherman Phipps. Sessions continued during the afternoon at Centerplace Restoration School. The day ended with a preaching service at the Auditorium where Seventy Neil Simmons shared a powerful, missionary minded sermon seeking to motivate the Church to more diligently labor in the vineyard. Business sessions and services continued throughout the week, meeting at the Truman Memorial Center. The closing service was Sunday morning, April 13th, with the spoken word being brought by JCRB President High Priest Rob Rolfe. Additionally, at this service Seventy Neil Simmons was set apart as the President of the Quorum of Presidents of Seventy. Great was the Lord's blessing as the Saints gathered to share in prayer, worship, fellowship, and business in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Additonal, information can be found at,
