Restoration Seventy
The Seventy are ordained ministers called of God to "preach the gospel, and to be especial witnesses unto the gentiles and in all the world" (DC 104:11e). They are called to be traveling ministers and preachers of the Gospel, to persuade men to obey the truth (DC 120:3b), "preaching with the warning voice, baptizing, organizing and setting in order, then pushing their ministry into other fields until the world is warned" (DC 122:8c).
The Gospel of Luke (10:1-2) testifies that Jesus "appointed other Seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face, into every city and place where he himself would come.
Jesus predicted troubling times before he returned in the last days. “When ye shall see these things, know that [the return of Jesus Christ] is near at hand” (Matthew 24:33 KJV).
