Article from December 2007 JCRB Newsletter
by Sister Pat Bronson

I would preface the following that was given me in the early morning hours of Sat., Oct. 20, 2007, by saying I was awakened and after a long period of time of trying without success to go back to sleep the Holy Spirit spoke to me saying, "the Spirit of confusion has come upon you. You need to get on your knees and pray that it be removed from you." This I did immediately, and as I was praying, suddenly many words of counsel flooded my mind as well as four (4) scripture references were given to me (a fifth was given later) to be shared with the Saints at the JCRB. I said to the Lord, "if this is truly of you and you want me to share this with the Saints, then I ask for the 'Burning of the Bosom' and that it remain with me in all it's power until after I've given it, because otherwise I'll never be able to do this." And, "the Burning of the Bosom" came immediately and stayed with me in power all day long without wavering, to near the end of the last session, it left me. There was a sense of urgency that I share this with the Saints, but because of time constraints, I was unable to get to the Prayer Service in time to share this experience with you. An officer of the JCRB was contacted, and again due to time constraints of the conference schedule I was unable to share this experience. However, an offer was made that it could be shared in the JCRB Newsletter. I do this knowing that some will reject it because of the frailties and weaknesses of the messenger, but still at the urging of the Holy Spirit I share this with you. I know without a shadow of a doubt the following was given me of the Lord.

Re:Fasting and Mighty Prayer

We, the Saints, should leave this conference, going back to our several individual Branches, and "continue in prayer and fasting from this time forth" until we meet again in April 2008, asking the Lord in deep humility for the following:

  1. That the Lord prepare our hearts and minds to receive of His ministry—that our hearts will be softened and our minds opened to His wants and His desires.
  2. That at the next conference our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ himself will come and bring us the ministry, guidance, and direction as to what He wants done in and through His church and the order in which it is to be done.
  3. That we come to the next conference united and committed "to be of one heart, one mind, and one purpose" to do His will and His will only.
  4. That we pray fervently and diligently for each other and for the Priesthood, especially for those among us who must go in to the 'work and market places' of the world, for their safety and protection from the forces of evil and powers of darkness that we may all remain faithful to our covenant with the Lord.
  5. That we put aside all things worldly, including all worldly lusts and desires, that we keep our eyes and our hearts 'stayed' upon our Lord, Jesus Christ.
  6. That we pray mightily against Satan and all his Satanic forces and powers of darkness with all our hearts, might, mind, and strength that Satan will not be able to deceive us nor over power us unto blindness and lead us down to destruction.

Re:Priesthood

The priesthood, more specifically, the Melchisedec Priesthood, "who hold the keys of all spiritual blessings of the church", should go from this conference into your several Branches, gather yourselves together often, sanctifying yourselves with 'mighty prayer and fasting', with all earnestness and great desire to seek and petition our Heavenly Father to "commune with the General Assembly of the Church of the Firstborn; and enjoy the communion and presence of God the Father, and Jesus Christ the Mediator of the new covenant", as per instructions given in Feb. 1835. The power and authority of God's Holy Priesthood rests 'with you and within you' so to do. That in so doing, God's people will receive the gifts and blessings needed in order that our Lord's work may move forward rapidly and His Kingdom may come in all its glory.

The Scriptures given me are as follows:

  1. D.C. 32:1c,d,e
  2. D.C. 85:21a
  3. D.C. 104:9a,b
  4. D.C. 119:2-4
  5. 2N 1:36-39

Impression: I was left with a vivid and distinct impression that we have only a very small 'window of opportunity' in terms of relationship as to 'TIME' to respond to His calling. And, that if we reject the Lord's counsel, or neglect to follow His counsel to prepare ourselves quickly, our opportunity to be included in His plans in the days that lie ahead, will pass us by. I know this may sound harsh, or difficult, but none the less, it is the very impression I was given; so much to be done and so little time left to do it in. And, whether it is 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years, it doesn't matter! Either way, it is still a very short time for preparation of ourselves for what lies ahead! Therefore, let nothing separate us from our God or from each other.

Lastly, I, of myself, would quote from Bro. Richard Neill's sermon in April 2005:

The prophetic voice will soon be returned to the church in power. First, by men of clear understanding, good character, and a humble spirit, and then will come the prophet who will lead like unto Moses. Your expectations, if equaled by your preparation, will assure that great things will be accomplished in this generation. Zion will come in all its glory!

May the Holy Spirit bear witness to you of these truths as He has to me, is my sincere prayer.

Lovingly, Your Sister-in-Christ,
Pat Bronson
